On Sunday June 4th, from 12-5PM please stop by and bring your friends to the 90th Street Block Party. The Carnegie Hill CSA will be front of the Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Lots of events are happening at the block party:
1) Come hungry and have lunch (or dessert) at one of our delicious food trucks! A local restaurant will also be selling draft beer and wine.
2) Live music all day! Noon-1:30pm, Swing Band from The New School, 2pm-3:30pm Caravan of Thieves, 4pm-5pm The Big Apple Gay and Lesbian Marching Band.
3) For kids we’ve got a smorgasbord of fun: face painting, balloon animals, two bounce houses, giant games, and bubbles galore.
4) Bid on amazing silent auction items from Hamilton tickets and NYC Ballet tickets (with backstage passes!) to a day-long sailing trip and dancing classes. Or get a head start on your annual Christmas card with a family portrait session!
5) Anyone can be part of our community “Ribbon Project” by writing a wish, a hope, or a message to the neighborhood which will be displayed along 90th Street.
6) Children will have their own art project, decorating and creating a “community garden”!
7) You can learn more about the facade of the church from Molly Grose who will be offering brief tours of the exterior!

Only being apart of a CSA can you really see your future vegetables being transplanted. Deb our farmer wrote this note to go with the video.
Another Beautiful Morning! Pete flattening out the soil for the Transplants. Jan, Geo and Julian loading up the transplanter and, Ramiro, Alan and Jr. covering the transplants with row cover to protect them from harmful insects.
Farm Share wrote this wonderful article about core group member Judi and our CSA. Check it out!

March 2015
Spring can not be far away and our seeding for the 2015 season has started. No matter the weather outside we have the advantage of warmth and light of the greenhouses. As you walk through the door to the greenhouse warmth and light are all around and the smell of soil fills the air. Today we started seeding Shallots. Like many of the earliest crops we seed, the Shallots will take months of growing, tending and care to finally come to harvest for the CSA shares.
If you have already ordered your CSA shares thank you and welcome to 2015. If you have not ordered your CSA shares there are still openings. To place an order for 2015 Log into your CSA Member Account from the farm website home page www.stoneledge.farm using your e-mail and password. Select the shares and place your order. The delivery season will start the beginning of June. The full list of CSA sites can be found on the farm website home page, CSA Locations link. Click on the Details box for complete information about that CSA site. If you know of someone that may be interested, please pass on the information. We appreciate the help reaching out. There are Vegetable Shares with optional Fruit, Mushroom and Coffee Shares available.
Welcome 2015
Deborah for everyone at Stoneledge Farm

Fall Farm Festival will be held on the farm September 6 from 11:30-3:00. It is a great day to come to the farm and see how your vegetables are grown.
If you are planning on going and have extra room in your car or would like to go but need a ride, post your offer or request to our community board!
Please note that the pick-up time is Tuesday 3:00-6:50PM. Before and after those hours our volunteers are working hard to setup or close down the site. Please only come between 3:00-6:50 to get your share so the volunteers can do their work efficiently.
Thank you,
The Core Group
Fellow members Greg Bernarducci & Liz Weiss will be giving us a special treat on Tuesday! They will be bringing their olive oils and balsamic vinegars from their store in Williamsburg for us to sample and purchase at a discount. After you pick up your share stop by their table and taste their olive oils, chat with them, learn why being CSA member was a huge inspiration for them to open their Brooklyn store. Here’s their website, check them out — olivebrooklyn.com
Judi has lots of suggestions for what to do with the tomato bounty!
