Our members are as diverse as the Carnegie Hill neighborhood in which we reside. From families with newborns to active retirees, students to busy professionals, from novice cooks to trained chefs, we all share the common desire to eat locally-sourced, organic vegetables.
Anastasia & Bobby
Anastasia and Bobby are our newer members. Anastasia fell in love with the produce and quickly became our lead coordinator.
MEMBERS SINCE: 2015
FAVORITE ASPECT OF CSA: We love having a direct connection with our farmers.
FAVORITE VEGGIE: Tomato season is our absolute favorite, and early in the season Bobby goes crazy for garlic scapes. The fresh basil is also incredible.
NEW DISCOVERY: Kohlrabi seemed pretty weird at first, but we’ve embraced it and have found some great recipes.
FAVORITE ASPECT OF CSA: Volunteering and checking the boxes off when members sign in.
FAVORITE VEGGIE: Red peppers
NEW DISCOVERY: Basil
FAVORITE RECIPE: French toast with CSA blueberries
Micah
We see Micah picking up his share after running in Central Park. Very convenient, since our pickup site is across the street from an entrance to Central Park.
FAVORITE ASPECT OF CSA: The variety of local, organic vegetables.
FAVORITE VEGGIE: Whatever is fresh. This week freshly-picked sugar snap peas.
NEW DISCOVERY: Kohlrabi
FAVORITE RECIPE: Roasted butternut squash
The Core Group
Our membership is made up of a CORE GROUP of volunteers who run the delivery site and serve as the liaison between the farmer and the members. These are the members who make everything run smoothly.

History
Member Bonnie Webber and Farmer Debbie Kavakos formed the Carnegie Hill CSA 29 years ago, in 1996. We are proud to say that the Carnegie Hill CSA was one of the first in NYC, and the very first for Stoneledge Farm. Today Stoneledge Farm has 20 delivery locations throughout NY and CT. Stoneledge Farm’s husband and wife owners Deborah and Pete Kavakos still work at the farm, which is now run by their son Pete Jr., his wife Candice, and their young children Grace, Emma, and little Pete.
Why Join Our CSA?
Being a member of the Carnegie Hill CSA means being a part of a community of neighbors and friends. We meet weekly to pick up our vegetables, share neighborhood news, recipes and have potluck gatherings. We talk to the farmers who grow our food and take our kids (or just ourselves) to Stoneledge Farm Visits in the Catskills. Being a member is a commitment to healthy living right here in New York City.
